Concrete Countertops

What type of countertop do you have at home or even at work? If you were to sit down and really think about it, you would realize that most conutertops are made out of wood or bagasse or some other material that easily deteriorates over time due to constant use and exposure to the elements of nature. To preserve the life of their contertops, some persons have gone to the extent of painting the surface or laying another material over it. While doing this may last for a time, eventually the surface will need to be repainted or the material used to cover it may need to be repaired or replaced. Sometimes this can run one into hundreds or even thousands of dollars. One philosophy that I believe in is to do it right the first time, even if it costs more. At least in the long run, you will see the savings that you made. This applies to using concrete countertops the first time you construct your counter – instead of using any other material, use concrete. I am sure that you will not be disappointed.

Concrete countertops have many advantages when compared to wood or bagasse: they are more durable and thus last longer; they can be polished, with the sheen lasting for many years; they are affordable; they do not need to be painted or covered with any other material; concrete contertops are easy to maintain; and concrete countertops look beautiful anywhere they are installed. The picture above should give you an idea of what I am talking about. I have been to a number of places that use them and I can tell you they look great. There are so many different places where you can install them, like in your kitchen, bathroom, or even your workshop. It is highly likely that you will fall in love with concrete contertops once you have them installed in your home.
